Apr. 29, 2024 12:00 p.m. - 1:15 p.m.
Join us April 29th at The Waste Commission of Scott County. Please be aware there will be walking & standing for longer periods of time. There is limited capacity, RSVPs are REQUIRED: We will have a very short Rotary Meeting and Lunch before the tour. Lunch will be from Panera. Senior Active & Guests-$15.00 Menu: Variety of Cold Sandwiches (with a Vegetarian Option) and Southwest Grilled Chicken Salad. Plus a special treat. AGAIN RSVPs are REQUIRED! Important information for this special noon meeting/tour: Please know that we'll do our best to make the facility tidy before the tour, but it can be dusty/smelly and there are a few tight walkways. The Recycling Center tour is about 20 minutes of walking/standing and includes multiple flights of stairs. Groups will also tour our Household Hazardous Material Facility and Electronics Recovery Center which will be operating normally. We’ll briefly walk outside to get to them, but the environment is cleaner in those spaces and on flat ground. Total tour time of 1 hour. We'll provide the necessary PPE, but we ask that all participants MUST wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. The attached map shows options for parking at our facility (highlighted in yellow). Our main entrance is at the dead-end of Carey Avenue. Please be cautious when walking to the main door because we have quite a bit of truck traffic. The red star is our customer entrance and the door everyone will want to enter through. |
