Join us on Monday, March 25 as Mayor Bill Gluba presents the “State of the City.”  He will provide his yearly update on the condition of the city.  Guests are welcome and will be charged $12 per person.



Bill Gluba is a second-generation Irish-American, the son of hardworking parents of modest means.  He is the first of the Gluba family in America to go to college.

Bill holds a BA from St. Ambrose and a Masters Degree in State and Local Government from the University of Iowa. 

Prior to becoming Mayor, Bill was a self-employed real estate agent for forty years. 

Bill attended the Executive Education Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and is an alumnus of the prestigious Mayor’s Institute of City Design

He has served this community as a State Representative, State Senator and Chairman of the Scott County Board of Supervisors. 

Bill Gluba was first elected Mayor of Davenport in November, 2007 by nearly a 2 to 1 margin.   

The City of Davenport has a budget of more than $202 million and employs more than 850 persons.   

Bill Gluba is a lifelong resident of Davenport.  He and his wife Trish have been married for 46 years, raised 5 children, and are the proud grandparents of 4 grandchildren.
