River Action is a non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the environmental, economic & cultural vitality of the Mississippi River and it's river front in the Quad Cities.

Some of the programs for River Action include:

Anuual QC Riverfront Bicycle Ride on June 21, 2009 - Enjoy a bi-state tour fo the Quad Cities along riverfront bike trails.  Plus, cruise on the Mississippi River on the Celebration Belle Riverboat from Iowa to Illinois or ride across the historic Arsenal Bridge.  Come join the fun with the whole family this Father's Day and carry on this 25-year tradition!

Get To Know The Mississippi River - To celebrate and continue to build our common riverfront and our common future, plan to take part in EXPLORE THE RIVER, a summertime education program, with some new sessions.  Classes are taught by professionals in river-related topics from biology to river folktales.  Sylvan Island to Arsenal Island history.

Retain the Rain - RTR College is an educational series sponsored by River Action.  The series offers insights and solutions for dealing with drainage problems and erosion, improving water quality and attracting birds and butterflies to one's yard.

QC RiverWay Audio Tours - Many museum and walking tours in larger cities have embraced the cell based tour. Technology what it is you'd be hard-pressed to find pedestrians and cyclists on the trails who don't carry a phone with them. The RiverWay Audio Tour is poised to capture the attention of Quad Citians and tourists with unique narrations that describe the area's role in national river history.

Currently there are two tours in place: "Bridge to Bridge" has stops on Arsenal Island, Davenport, and Rock Island in between the Government & Centennial Bridges, and the "Illinois Mississippi River Trail" has stops from the Sylvan Natural Area in Rock Island to Ben Butterworth Parkway in Moline.
