In preparation for our 2nd Annual Rotary Night at the Ballpark on August 17, Frank Klipsch, Scott County Family YMCA President/CEO and fellow Rotarian will give an enthusiastic talk on Monday about umpiring and baseball rules.
 
Born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1949, Frank is the oldest of 7 children.  He graduated in 1970 from Southwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and from the University of Arizona with a Masters in Education: Emphasis in Sports Psychology.  Frank started his career in 1972 at a YMCA in Tucson, AZ.  From Tucson he moved to YMCA's in Naperville, Roswell, and then Davenport in 1987.
 
Frank's community involvement includes: QC Cultural/Education Supporting Trust, Downtown, Davenport Partnership, YMCA of the USA "National Assembly", Quad City Sports Center, World Leadership Institute, Palmer College of Chiropractic, Variety Club of the Quad Cities,  River Music Experience, Davenport Rotary Quad Cities Scholars, Q.C. Scholars "Scholarship Committee", German-American Heritage Center, Davenport/Parks & Rec. Advisory Board, Valley Shelter Board of Directors, Association of YMCA Professionals, United Way Agency Director's Association, 1999, 2000, and 2008 United Way Campaign Cabinet, "Center for Active Seniors" National Accreditation Task Force. 

Frank and Terre, his wife of 38 years, have 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Frank enjoys spending his free time coaching youth sports, reading, wood working, cactus gardening, and playing with his grandkids.
