Frank Donchez, Chief of Police for the City of Davenport.  Chief Donchez was born and raised in Pennsylvania and served as Chief of Police in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania Davenport and Bethlehem are comparable in many ways, but especially in sharing the values of community pride.

 

Since taking the office of Police Chief, Chief Donchez has instituted a department policy defining the rules of pursuit.  Suspects and vehicles will be identified if possible, but a high-speed chase will not be the standard.  Cooperation with all cities in the area will be stressed and all pertinent information will be shared.

 

The Davenport Police Department has 166 officers and is an Accredited Police Department and strives for professionalism in all members.

 

The City of Davenport is committed to the department and has up-to-date facilities.  The crime rate in the city was down 14% in 2007 and through August of 2008 is down at a yearly rate approaching 12 1/2%.   Targeted areas for crime control include community governance and a continued effort to maintain a long-term downward trend in the crime rate.
