YMCA Update

A native of Hays, Kansas, Brad played baseball and graduated from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas, with a degree in physical education and recreation.
From his first position as an undergraduate youth sports official on Saturday mornings in 1979, Brad has continued his community service with the YMCA for the past 38 years. Following his tenure as CEO of the YMCA in McPherson, Kansas and District Executive in Oklahoma City, Brad joined the staff of the Greater Wichita YMCA in 1998.
In his position as Chief Operations Officer, Brad was responsible for ten branches, 95 outreach and child care locations, and a budget of $40M. His leadership of the city-wide annual campaign increased community support gifts from $591,327 to $2M. In addition, the Wichita YMCA developed a reputation as one of the most innovative YMCA systems in the nation, opening four branches in an eight-year period and increasing membership by over 350% to serve 160,000 active members.
The past 6 years, Brad has been the CEO of the Scott County Family Y; he led the acquisition of the Utica Ridge YMCA, the expansion of the Bettendorf YMCA and has increased membership from 23,000 to 41,000 active members. The Scott County Family Y provides $1.53 million in scholarship assistance each year having a major impact in our community. He is just the fourth CEO in the past 78 years to lead the Scott County Family Y.
A fan of Kansas State athletics and an avid handball player, Brad is married to his wife, Lillian, and they have two children, Nate, 17, and Bria, 11.
