Sarah Stevens is the Executive Director at Lead(h)er, a grassroots nonprofit that connects women with experienced leaders to fuel their career and community engagement. Sarah came to Lead(h)er after a decade long career in corporate healthcare where she held multipleleadership positions including Director of Genesis Health Group and Director of Outpatient Services for the health system. In February of 2016, Sarah chose to leave her position with Genesis in order to pursue work that better aligned with her sense of passion and purpose, She determined that the position with Lead(h)er would provide the perfect opportunity to utilize herbackground in operational leadership to create a strong, positive impact on the community, and it turns out that she and Lead(h)er were a perfect match.

Dr. Richard Whitaker began his career in the Quad Cities 24 years ago as a doctoral intern at the historic Marriage and Family Counseling Service in Rock Island, Illinois prior to receiving his Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brigham Young University in 1995. Since that pivotal year, Dr. Whitaker has pursued a career in community mental health, providing therapy services, supervision, and executive administration at community mental health centers in Grand Island, Nebraska (9 years) and Jasper, Indiana (12 years as CFO). Since January, 2017, Rich has served as the CEO of Vera French Community Mental Health Center in Davenport, Iowa. Dr. Whitaker also serves as a Governor-appointed commissioner for the Iowa MHDS Commission, as a board member for the Iowa Association of Community Providers, and as a member of the Eastern Iowa MHDS Regional Advisory Committee. Rich and Miriam, his wife of 28 years, are the parents of 3 daughters and 1 son and the proud grandparents of 2 highly intelligent and multi-talented granddaughters. In his spare time, Rich enjoys family time at home, exercising, ultimate Frisbee, vocal performance, and service in the church and community. |

As Assistant Attorney General, he has prosecuted most of Iowa's public corruption and major financial crime over the last decade, including the Iowa Film Office Tax Credit scandal, and uncovering and prosecuting the largest lottery-rigging scandal in American history. He attended Brown University in Rhode Island and the University of Iowa Law School. He is now a candidate for Iowa's State Auditor. He and his wife Christine have two young sons. |

Barbara Melbourne, Vice Chancellor for Advancement at Palmer College of Chiropractic will give a presentation on, "Palmer College - Its Role in the Community - Past, Present and Future." Biography – Barbara Melbourne, J.D., Vice Chancellor for Institutional Advancement, was named Palmer’s vice chancellor for institutional advancement in November 2016. She’s responsible for providing leadership in the strategic planning and execution of College programs and initiatives related to alumni relations and fundraising. She previously served as vice president for development at the Community Foundation of the Great River Bend. Along with her experience at the foundation, Melbourne brings with her more than three decades of experience, including more than 21 years of planned- and major-gift experience in higher education and social services, including previous work at Augustana College, UCLA and Penn State University. She holds a juris doctorate from the University of Kansas School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. |

Davenport Community Food Pantry

Sarah McGlynn is a Nationally Board Certified Special Education teacher, teaching students in kindergarten and first grade special education at Monroe Elementary school in Davenport. Her thirteen year career has spanned general and special education positions, grades kindergarten to seventh grade, with an emphasis on children with severe emotional and behavioral disabilities. She is passionate about bringing Trauma-Informed Care to her students, including bringing her certified Therapy Dog, Ziggy, to school for the students. She is active in her local education association, elected as an Executive Board member for eleven years, and worked on several initiatives to further the association's connection with the community. She began the planning and preparation phase of the Davenport Community Food Pantry (DCFP) two years ago, and worked to generate the partnerships between the Davenport Education Association, the Madison Market, and River Bend Food Bank. She has been the Coordinator of the DCFP for the past year, running the daily functioning of the pantry, in addition to her teaching career. The pantry serves an average of 1,120 families a month, feeding 4-5,000 people. The Iowa State Education Association has supported both efforts with grant funding, including awarding the Community Action grant the past three years. |

Gwen Tombergs joins the Quad City Storm Hockey Team as the first female President of hockey in the Quad Cities and the Southern Professional Hockey League. A native of Eldridge, Iowa, Gren brings a plethora of experience in marketing, sales, media relations and event operations. She has worked for the CBA's Quad City Thunder, the ECHL's Richmond Renegades and the MLB's New York Mets. Gwen is an avid volunteer and has been involved with numerous community nomnprofit boards and committees. Her latest accomplishment was being the Project Manager for the first Quad Cities Big Table. She and her husband Dave reside in Bettendorf. Deb Anselm is the Publisher of the Quad City Times and a Rotary Club of Davenport Member. Deb began her newspaper career in sales with Howard Publications in 1996. After working in various roles in sales and marketing, I joined Lee Enterprises in 2005 as the Retail Sales Manager for The Times Media Company in NWI. After serving as the General Manager for a bureau of The Times, I assumed the role of General Manager and Vice President of Sales for The Times in 2011. I was named Publisher of the Quad-City Times in 2015. Deb is married to Scott, and mother of Alissa, Zach and Emma. Deb enjoys spending time with friends and family. She is an avid sports fan, partial to following college basketball. Deb also enjoys community involvement and has served on boards of the Chamber of Commerce, YMCA, park foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs and mental health organizations to name a few. An East Moline native, Matt Christensen is executive editor of the Quad-City Times, Dispatch-Argus and Muscatine Journal. He is a graduate of United Township High School and Iowa State University. Christensen has won numerous awards as a reporter and editor and serves on the board of directors for the Associated Press Media Editors. He’s spent his entire career working for Davenport-based Lee Enterprises in markets across the country and returned to the Quad-Cities in March.

Corinne is a nanny in Des Moines. Denise enjoys running, hiking, biking and travel. She and Carl spend time each summer pursuing those interests in Colorado. |

He was in private practice at Lane & Waterman LLP in Davenport from 1984 until his appointment. |

Volunteer times are as follows: 1000 am to 1200 pm, 1200 pm to 200 pm, 200 pm to 400 pm, 400 pm to 600 pm and 600 pm to 800 pm. It is requested that there be two people per shift. A sign up sheet will be available at the check in desk at the Noon Monday Meetings.

Paul Rumler is the President & CEO of the Quad Cities Chamber, since April 2018. He was recruited back to the Quad Cities after being in Michigan for two years as the Grand Rapids Chamber’s Chief Strategy Officer. He had been with the Quad Cities Chamber and preceding organizations since 2006, serving in roles ranging from talent attraction and retention, community development, public policy, and economic development. In 2015, he was recognized as a “40 Under 40 Leader in Economic Development” Development Counsellors International.
Previous to his 12 years in Chambers of Commerce, Paul worked in legislative/government affairs in the Massachusetts State Senate and U.S. Congress. Paul is originally from the Quad Cities. |

George Ryan is the corridor manager for the $1.2 billion construction of the new river bridges and reconstruction of Interstate 74 in Bettendorf and Moline. Prior to joining Wood Environment and Infrastructure Solutions, he performed multiple roles for the Illinois Department of Transportation during a 34-year career. His expertise includes facilitating communication and cooperation in the design, construction, and maintenance areas while achieving and preserving the best highway system possible within available resources. He has been involved in the preliminary design, design and construction of numerous major projects. One such example was overseeing all phases of the largest down state roadway reconstruction ever undertaken in Illinois, the $500 million reconstruction of Interstate 74 through downtown Peoria, Illinois. |

Bio information obtained from the United Way of the Quad Cities website: United Way of the Quad Cities Area announced today that Rene Gellerman has been named their new President & CEO, starting October 29, 2018. Gellerman worked at the Quad Cities Chamber for the last 12 years, serving most recently as Senior Vice President and Loaned Executive to Q2030. Her primary responsibilities included guiding and implementing the Q2030 Regional Action Plan, community outreach, visioning, strategic planning, demographic research, building collaborative teams, volunteer development, establishing regional shared metrics and raising the necessary resources to support the backbone operations for the regional vision. “I love the Quad Cities. I’m thrilled to lead United Way and hopeful about the possibilities for our region’s future,” says Gellerman. “My work with Q2030 provides the foundation and clarity on how we can maximize our donor investments and United Way’s impact in the region. I’m excited to work together with the more than 12,000 local United Way contributors, our partner businesses, agencies and the non-profit sector to influence lasting, measurable improvements in both individual well-being and region-wide social conditions.” Prior to her position with the Quad Cities Chamber, Rene was with the Scott County Family Y and earlier with U.S. Representative Lane Evans serving in roles that included fund development, public policy, volunteer development and strategic planning. Gellerman currently sits on the board of directors for the Quad Cities Cultural Trust, River Music Experience and Living Lands & Waters. She is a Founding Charter Woman of United Way’s Women United. She is married to David Gellerman and they have five children ages 19 – 27. |
