The Race Across the Sky

John Byrne, Dean of the College of Business at St. Ambrose University, will be joining us on Monday to share life lessons he learned while preparing for and finishing the Leadville Trail 100 in under 30 hours.  The Leadville is a 100 mile run through the heart of the Rocky Mountains.  Prior to the Leadville Trail 100, he ran one marathon in Tucson, AZ.  He is currently preparing to compete in the Wisconsin Ironman Triathalon on September 7 in Madison, Wisconsin.  The triathalon is a combination of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile run. 

John earned his bachelors degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Notre Dame, his Masters from Loyola, and PhD from the University of Iowa.  John worked in commercial banking for 6 years before a change in 1991 brought him into a career of higher education.

John and his wife, Joan, of 20 years live in Bettendorf with their five children who range in age from 6-16.
