Rev. Ronald C. Quay, the Executive Director of Churches United of the Quad City Area since September of 2002, is an ordained American Baptist clergyman.  Before coming to the Quad Cities he spent about 10 years as the Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Morristown, New Jersey.

Ron's ministry in Morristown involved him in significant community work including the establishment of the first day time drop-in center for the homeless and the creation of what became the largest interfaith food pantry that served that section of the county.

Ron's educational background includes a Bachelor degree from JudsonCollege in Elgin, Illinois earned in 1967.  That degree was followed by a Master of Divinity from Princeton Seminary in New Jersey awarded in 1970.  Ron also earned a Master of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the NewSchool in New York City in 1973.

After Seminary Ron became an Urban Training Fellow attached to the American Baptist regional office in New York City.  After about two years this was followed by an interim assignment as Pastor to a BaptistChurch in the Bronx.  He left the city in 1973 to take more courses at PennsylvaniaStateUniversity in State College, PA.  While in central Pennsylvania he also became the Pastor to a small rural BaptistChurch.

Ron left the full-time pastorate in 1976 and worked in the Human Resource Development field first with a large bank in New York City for 10 years and then with a small corporate service firm in eastern Connecticut for about 4 years.  During this time he continued to serve churches as a guest preacher or as a limited time interim pastor.

In 1992 he returned to the full time pastorate with the call to the First Baptist Church of Morristown.  He left that church to take his current position with Churches United in August, 2002.
