Nancy Mulcahey is currently the President and CEO of the Quad City Development Group, the economic development umbrella for the entire Quad City Region.   She assumed that role on January 15, 2008 after an exhaustive search by the QCDG Board for a new CEO to replace interim CEO John Gardner.  Mulcahey was serving as Vice President of the QCDG when she was named President.

Mulcahey was raised in Dayton, Ohio but has had long ties to the Quad Cities area.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University in Macomb, and her MBA from St. Ambrose University in Davenport.

She was employed as Economic Development Director at Bi-State Regional Commission from 1980 to 1990.  She then became Economic Development Director for the City of Moline from 1990 to 2003, and lead the city through some exciting growth projects.  In 2003, she was selected by Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich to be the Northwest Regional Director for the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.  In that role she oversaw all economic development activities for the state in the northwest part of Illinois.  She held that position until July of 2007, and then joined the Development Group as Vice President.
