Frank Klipsch, Davenport Promise

Frank Klipsch and members of the Davenport Promise Task Force will update the Davenport Rotary on this proposal.  Davenport Promise is a community development strategy for growing Davenport's population and tax base.  The goals of the proposed program are:

To attract new families to Davenport by providing residents assistance with post secondary education and training for their children.

To offer encouragment to Davenport students to complete high school

To develop a more skilled workforce

To build tax base by increasing property values throughout Davenport

The Davenport City Council may consider authorizing a public referendum that proposes a re-allocation of the City's Local Option Sales Tax to a formula that makes a portion of this tax revenue stream available to fund the Davenport Promise program.
