Doug Rick is the newly appointed I-74 Project Manager for the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT).  He also serves as the DOT Area Engineer for the Iowa Quad City area.  As the I-74 Project Manager he is responsible for the coordination of activities for the development and construction of improvements to the I-74 corridor in the Quad Cities, including the replacement of the Mississippi River bridges.  As the Area Engineer he monitors the highway infrastructure and leads the development of maintenance and preservation projects.  He also recommends major projects and long range priorities.  He serves as a member of project management teams for major projects in the area.  Doug is regularly the DOT's initial contact with the media, general public, businesses, law enforcement, consultants, and local jurisdictions on matters pertaining to state roadways.

Doug graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and is a licensed professional engineer in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin. He has been a resident of Davenport since 1979.  He has served the Iowa DOT for over 28 years.  Doug is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a past president of the Quad City Section.  Doug represents the DOT at area Chamber of Commerce Transportation Committees, is a member of the Scott County Multidisciplinary Traffic Safety Team, and has been appointed to serve on the Davenport School Crossing Safety Committee.
