Duk H. Kim received his Ph.D. from University of Missouri-St. Louis. Dr. Kim is an associate professor of Political Science and Leadership Studies and the director of International Studies at St. Ambrose University, where he teaches courses on international politics, organization, and law. Dr. Kim is a native of South Korea and an expert on Korean politics, East Asian affairs, and UN peace operations. He has written extensively and given many talks on these topics. Among his works are Nurturing Peace: UN Peacebuiding in the Aftermath of Intrastate Conflicts, 1945-2002 and Two Koreas, Remembering One Nation. Dr. Kim currently serves the World Affairs Council of the Quad Cities as the president. The World Affairs Council of the QC (WACQC) is non-partisan and a 501(c) (3) organization and affiliated with World Affairs Council of America. The WACQC holds free public month lecture series in the Bettendorf Public Library every last Tuesday of the month at 7pm from September to May.

He will be discussing the recent developments between Washington and Pyongyang and what might the implications be for South Korea, U.S. foreign policy, and Asian and world politics.
