Wine Pull-The committee is encouraging attendees to bring 1 to 2 Bottles of Wine for the Annual Wine Pull. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase to participate in The Wine Pull during the luncheon. Take a photo with your sweetheart or favorite Rotarian/Rotarians. Fun Valentine’s Day props will be available. Special thanks to Brad Fugate & Walgreens. Menu: Sandwich, Soup, and Variety of Desserts. Lemonade, Tea, and Coffee. The Davenport State of the City address is an annual presentation by Mayor Frank Klipsch of Davenport and fellow Davenport Rotarian. It is a great opportunity to review the accomplishments of the past year, outline the roadmap of long and short term goals for the future, while bringing together community organizations, government officials, citizens, and businesses to promote and celebrate citywide and regional collaboration and success. Event in collaboration with The Rotary Club of Davenport & QC Chamber. Lunch Menu Options. Please identify your menu option in the comment section of registration. 1. Pasta Primavera (Vegetarian): Fettuccini, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Carrots and Tomato with Olive Oil and Fresh Basil 2. Chicken La Quercia: Paneed Chicken with Sauteed Spinach, Proscuitto and Swiss Cheese Cream, served with Rice Pilaf and Fresh Vegetables **Both entrees will come with a side Caesar Salad and a Dessert

Challenges facing the current court systems

Judge Greve, Bettendorf, was appointed to the bench in 2006 and named as chief judge in 2013. She received her undergraduate degree from Upper Iowa University Magna Cum Laude and her law degree from the University Of Iowa College Of Law in 1992 with High Distinction. After graduation from law school, she was in private practice from 1992-2006. Judge Greve is a member of the Scott County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, and the Iowa Judges Association. She is married and has one child. |

Michael Ralston was elected president of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) in November of 2005. Prior to his service as ABI President, Ralston was appointed by Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack and served for almost three years as Director of Revenue for the State of Iowa. He led a staff of nearly 400 employees in administering Iowa’s tax laws, collections operations, internal audit systems and other essential functions. From 1999 to his appointment, Ralston was Director of Policy and Law for Iowa for Qwest Communications, an international Fortune 500 telecommunications and broadband services company. Ralston led the company’s governmental affairs and community affairs in Iowa, with primary responsibility for representing Qwest with Iowa’s Governor and Lieutenant Governor, the Iowa General Assembly, and the Iowa Congressional Delegation. Prior to joining Qwest in 1999, Ralston was president of the Iowa Taxpayers Association, a statewide corporate tax policy organization. In the past, Ralston has served as the chief executive of a local government tax research organization, as a corporate vice president with a health services company, and as chief Iowa assistant to former Congressman Cooper Evans. Ralston was elected mayor of Grundy Center, Iowa at age 18 and re-elected three times. Ralston is a past member of the board of directors of the Iowa’s Jobs for America’s Graduates program, is a past member of the of the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Governmental Research Association, the Deputies Committee of the Iowa Business Council, the Board of Directors of the Iowa Taxpayers Association, and is a graduate and past chairman of the Board of Governors of the Leadership Iowa program. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Federation of Tax Administrators, and is a member and past member of several other boards and organizations. Ralston holds a B.A. from the University of Northern Iowa, which recognized him as an Outstanding Alumnus in 1992. |

He is a 16, a student at Pleasant Valley High School and will provide video of his trips through his year so far in Iowa and his home in the southwestern French wine region of Bordeaux. Doug Petersen will also provide an update on the Rotary Youth Exchange program. |

Miracle Field

Public awareness regarding the Miracle Field, an all-inclusive baseball diamond that would allow children with disabilities to play in a safe and welcoming environment; the first of its kind in the Quad Cities!
Scott Hock, Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Davenport: Davenport Parks & Recreation Director, Scott Hock will give an overview of what the department has to offer the citizens of the Quad Cities touching on facilities, youth sports, new additions and inclusive recreation. He will discuss the department’s current initiative, which is to bring community awareness to the Miracle Field. The Miracle Field is an all-inclusive baseball diamond that would allow children with disabilities to play in a safe and welcoming environment; the first of its kind in the Quad Cities!

He is Past President and current member of the Bettendorf Rotary Club, a member of the Executive Board of Medic Ambulance Corporation, serves on the Board of Directors of the Illowa Boy Scout Council, he serves as Chairperson for the Board of the First Tee of the Quad Cities and is Past President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Iowa City Managers' Association, a member of the Board of Directors for the Center for Active Seniors (CASI), and is a Past Volunteer Chairman of the John Deere Classic PGA Tour Golf Tournament. Decker has been the Bettendorf City Administrator since 1990. He also served the City as Chief of Police from 1986 through 1990 and prior to that held positions of Detective Sergeant, Detective, and Patrolman and started his career with the city in 1975. Decker is married with two adult children, Decker II who resides in LeClaire, IA with his wife Sarah and his daughter Sarah, who resides in LeClaire, IA with her husband Ryan. Decker and his wife, Jayne, reside in Bettendorf. |

Come and enjoy a tour of the newly remodeled and expanded Davenport Central Fire Station, hosted by our very own Fire Chief, Chief Lynn Washburn-Livingston.
"The Central Fire Station is located in downtown Davenport, Iowa, United States and serves as the headquarters of the Davenport Fire Department, as well as the downtown fire station. Built from 1901 to 1902, it is the oldest active fire station west of the Mississippi River. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places."
